Gifts & Memorial Donations

John Alexander Stonkus, beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Hendersonville, NC passed away August 25th.   He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn of 37 years, his five sons John, Alexander, Andrew, Sean, and Devin, along with four daughters-in-law and ten grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his parents and brother.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 28, 1936 to Anella and John Philip Stonkus, he grew up in Long Island, New York along with his brother Tom and sister Mary.  He worked for many years in chemical sales at BASF and then co-founded a proprietary chemical business, which was later sold to M&T Chemical.

John will be most remembered for the love he had for his family.  As his children grew older, so did his fondness of his fur babies.  He enjoyed playing golf and had a passion to debate politics and religion and watching Fox News.  He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held 10 am Monday, August 28th, in the Our Lady of the Angels Chapel of Immaculate Conception Church. Fr. Martin Schratz will officiate. The family will receive guests in the St. Francis Hall of the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life or to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
