John “J.B.” Osteen, 81, of Hendersonville passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Pardee Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late John and Eula Mae Bayne Osteen. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Fletcher and his brother, Blaine Osteen.

J.B. owned and operated Osteen Electric for many years and was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. He was a member of the Kedron Masonic Lodge #387 AF&AM, enjoyed fishing, western movies, traveling and anything outdoors.

He is survived by his partner of 15 years, Sarah Honeycutt; daughter, Teresa “Terri” O. Lee and her husband, Douglas of Connecticut; son, Glen J. Osteen and his wife, Debbie of Alaska; grandchildren, Eric, Chris, Ashli, Sydney and Shelby; great-grandchild, William; sisters, Carolyn King and her husband, Blaine, Shelby Merchant and Linda Bryson; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Winter officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Shuler Funeral Home.
