Judith Pittillo Walden, 65, of Hendersonville died Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Hendersonville following a period of declining health.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Edith and Leo Pittillo, Sr. Her brother, Leo Pittillo, Jr., also preceded her in death.

Judith knew the true joy of giving while living, as did her mother Edith Pittillo. She worked for 19 years at the Chicago Telephone Supply in Asheville and was a member of Hooperís Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Walden of Hendersonville; her lifelong best friend, Elaine Turcq of Hendersonville; and her Aunt Irene Youngblood of Hooperís Creek.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Monday, September 26, 2011 at Hooperís Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The Reverend Craig Stepp will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

    Melissa, I am sorry for the loss of your mother. My mom, Juanita, wanted me to tell you how kind, helful, and what a wonderful friend she was to her. They did a lot of exploring places over the years and Judy was always just so nice to her.
