Gifts & Memorial Donations

Larry Huitt Sigman, 73, of Hendersonville, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Mission Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Guy and Madge Sigman. He was also preceded in death by a son, Patrick Scott Sigman.

Larry was employed as a supervisor with the United States Postal Service prior to retiring in 1997. He had 33 years of service with them. He was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed being a starter at both Etowah Valley and The Cliffs golf courses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and growing and tending to his garden. He always enjoyed wintering in Florida; however, the thing he cherished most in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda; sons, Jeff Sigman and his wife Kena of Chapel Hill, NC, Chris Sigman and his significant other Dawn Finley of Hendersonville; brother, Mike Sigman of Savannah, Ga; grandchildren, Joseph (15) and Grace (12) Sigman; his dogs, Jax the Golden Retriever and Ciji the Bichon as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in the Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Scoggins will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s in memory of Larry.
