Leona Lancaster

Leona J. Lancaster, 83 of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Jeanette Justus. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clint Lancaster and a brother Hollis Justus.

A devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed canning, knitting and crocheting for her friends and family. She also was a lifelong member of Edneyville United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her daughter Marcia Lancaster; two sons Don Lancaster and his wife Angela and Gary Lancaster all of Hendersonville; grandchildren Tonya Moseley, April Lancaster of Charlotte, Jason and Amy Lancaster all of Hendersonville; great-grandchildren Amanda and Ashley Moseley, and Jaxon Lancaster; a sister Mittie Hull of Hendersonville, several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers Coleen, Kathy, Nikki, Pat and granddaughter Tonya for the special care that was given to Mrs. Lancaster.

A funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Edneyville United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Byrum will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church.
