Lewis B. Ruff, 83, of Hendersonville died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.

He was the son of the late Andy Ruff and Sally McCraw Ruff and husband of the late Betty R. Ruff who died in 1995. He was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ruff; two daughters, Jenny Ruff and Cathy Ruff; three brothers; and two sisters.

He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from Berkley Mills.

He is survived by his daughters, Carol Ruff and Rose Colecio, both of Hendersonville, and Penny Barnwell of Etowah; his son, Mike Ruff of Etowah; grandchildren, Joey, Erica and Michelle Colecio of Hendersonville, Josh Ruff of Mountain Home, David Patterson of Hendersonville, Gina Whitmire of Etowah, Stephen Vaughn of Flat Rock, and Amy Ruff of Hendersonville; and two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Dominic Whitmire of Etowah.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am Sunday, March 27, 2011 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The family will receive friends from 6 ñ 8 pm Saturday, March 26 at Shuler Funeral Home.
