Louis David Elmore, 70, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Charles George VA Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

Surviving are his wife Jackie Elmore; five sons; three daughters; two sisters; one brother; and many grandchildren.

Services will be private. Interment will take place in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

    Jackie I'm awfully glad I got to come in March and have a visit with Louie. We were great buddies in the army and shared a lot of stuff together. In March, He and John and I had a lot of laughts. I'm sure all of you will really miss him. You all have our sympathy and will be in our prayers. Tom

    My sincere sympathy. I did not know Louie but saw the notice in the WRHerald. My late brother Bob Dodge (So.Royalton)were good friends (late 50's, 60's?) andhe spoke often of Louie. I wish I had known him. Sincere sympathy to you and all the family.

    Well here I sit..posting this. Heartbroken. Found out about my Dads passing almost 6 months after the fact. I owe so much to Jackie for taking such good care of him for all of those years. Good and bad..she was always there. Thank You seems like such a understatement. It is! I will forever love my Daddy and carry the regrets of not having a better relationship with him. For all of the kind people that wrote such sweet things about him..Thank you too!
