Lucy Jennette, 91, of Hendersonville, died May 13, 2016. She was born in Goldsboro on January 30, 1925 to the late to Asa and Catherine O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur “Jack” Jennette.

She and Jack moved several times with his company before settling in Charlotte to raise their family. Lucy worked as a part time sales manager to provide extra income and to have a flexible work schedule to take their daughters to their various activities. When it came time for retirement Jack and Lucy moved to Hendersonville where they enjoyed living in the mountains and taking extended trips traveling the country. Lucy enjoyed her life, family and friends fully with enthusiasm and appreciation.

Lucy is survived by three children, Robin West, Kim Morris and Jill Aeptha Jennette; two grandchildren, Lindsay DelGrosso and Adam West and three great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the Kirby Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice. Lucy had a fondness for charities associated with animals, children and the environment.
