Margaret ìPeggyî Joyce Scott, 74, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at her mountain home in Saluda, NC.

Peggy was born on February 13, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA, but she was a true native of Miami, FL, where she grew up, married and started a wonderful family. Later Peggy and her family relocated to Stone Mountain, GA for many more years.

Peggy always felt blessed to enjoy the magic of the mountains and the beauty of the ocean. The joys of her life were spending many happy times with all of her beautiful grandchildren, her wonderful friends, gardening, cooking, and interior decorating.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Howard (Pete) Scott; her daughters, Patricia Stutts and husband, Gordon, of Lavonia, GA, and Lisa Orr and husband, Lee, of Atlanta, GA; and her son, Howard (Rusty) Scott, Jr. of Loganville, GA. Peggy was blessed with four grandchildren, Kelly Stutts, Greg Stutts, Lindsay Rowe, and Jordan (Bo) Orr; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby Rowe, Payton Rowe and Dylan Buckner.

A celebration of Peggyís life will be held from 1-3 PM Saturday, May 2, 2009 at her home in Saluda.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please consider a legacy of love donation in honor of Peggy to Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

Peggy was beautiful & gracious to the bone. She glided thru life with an innocent sense of wonderment about everyone and everything around her. She is a very special friend. Proverbs 31:25-29 truly describes her. I'm so sorry for your huge loss! y describes peggy

Dear Pete, Patti, Rusty, Lisa and Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. Peggy was loving, caring, courageous, and a fighter, never giving up. Her battle with cancer has ended but her memories will last forever. As sick as Peggy was, I will always remember the trip she made during our time of loss to be with our family and it was deeply appreciated. I will miss her smiling face and the twinkle in her eyes. She is resting in peace and free from pain. Martha & Alex
