Margie M. Green, age 81, of Hendersonville, NC died after an extended illness late Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2019 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Mrs. Green was born on Saturday, September 4, 1937 to the late Austin and Mamie (Powers) Powers. On August 24, 1959, as the former Margie M. Powers in Crossnore, NC, she married her husband of 59 years, Kenneth L. Green. She was co-owner along with her husband of “Little River Custom Golf” for 25 years before retiring. She was a faithful member of various Baptist churches throughout the years and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Benjamin C. Green and his wife, Sue, of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Joshua L. Green of Portland, OR; Sommer Grace Green of Lexington, SC; Dakota B. Green and Levi “Sage” Green, both of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are two sisters, Rita P. Johnson (Mike) of West Jefferson, NC and Mary P. Glenn (Arliss) of Pennsylvania; and a multitude of other family and friends. In addition to her parents and other brothers, sisters, and niece, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Nancy Lee Green, who died in September of 2000.

At the family’s request, private services will be held at a later date.

Margie will be forever missed by her loving and devoted family and many dear friends.
