Marion S. Duspiva, 85, of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Pardee Hospital after a period of declining health. A native of Queens, NY, she lived in Henderson County the last twenty-nine years. Marion was a daughter of the late William and Ida Mueller Schneider, and was also preceded in death by her brother, William Joseph Scheider, Jr. She was a civilian employee with the Nassau County Police department. Marion was a member of Moores Grove United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, and organized knitting and crocheting classes. She was a terrific bowler, and taught Bowling at S.U.N.Y. Farmington, NY. Marion was secretary of numerous Bowling leagues. She was a member of the Henderson County Crafters and was a talented artist, painting water colors, oil, and acrylics.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Albert E. Duspiva; two daughters, Marilyn Bower of Kasson, MN, Janet Gribko and her husband, Gary of Plainview, NY; five grandchildren, Kimberly Ostrander and her husband Robert of Mason City, IA, Kara Golombowski and her husband Steve of Johnsberg, MN, Thomas Bower of Waukee, IA, George Gribko of Plainview, NY, Robert Bower and his wife Sophia of Riverside, IA; four great-grandchildren, Addison, Ava, Anniston, Reese; a sister, Carol Himberger of Sound Beach, NY; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Moores Grove United Methodist Church. Revs. Deborah Patterson and Walt Christian will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service in the church.
