Marlene Pruitt Beddingfield, 58, of Hendersonville, NC died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock after a long illness.

Born in Brevard, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Mabel Mills Pruitt.

She had lived most of her life in Hendersonville and was a 1970 graduate of East Henderson High School. Before retiring in 1993, she was employed by Garrison Family Dentistry as a receptionist. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Bryon Anthony ìTonyî Beddingfield and son, Bryan Anthony Beddingfield, both of Hendersonville; her brother, Grady L. ìBuddyî Pruitt, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Janice Pruitt Proctor of Mooresville; and Sarah Pruitt Jackson and Sheri Pruitt Osteen, both of Hendersonville; two half-sisters, Ruby Thomas of Rosman and Pat Taylor of Asheville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday at Gethsemane Baptist Church with the Reverend Brian Proctor and Peter McDonald officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Marleneís memory to the Gethsemane Baptist Church Building Fund, 1315 Old Spartanburg Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
