Martha Sterling Lively, 72, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was a native of Lansing, Michigan. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Lively, Sr.; a grandson, Christopher Nicolas Tyler; and a brother, Philip Rowley.

Martha was a member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. She was helping raise three of her grandchildren; and will always be known for her big heart, and always having an open house to her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Lisa Lively, Mitzie Lively both of Hendersonville, and James Lee Lively, Jr and his wife Megan of Taylorsville, NC; eight grandchildren, Corey Lee Tyler, Danielle Trussoni, Ashton James Lively, Noah Anakin Lively, Kaylee Jade Lively, Madison Gosnell, Emma Grace Lively, and Ada Katelyn Lively; three great-grandchildren, Salvatori, Ariana, and Lorenzo Trussoni; a brother, Charles Curtis; two sisters, Mary Bayes and Gael Ainsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Barbara Life Center of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made for a Trust for the three grandchildren of the home to: 2022 Glenheath Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28791.

    Martha was a very good friend and I loved her dearly.I started out as her dental hygienist and we quickly became friends. I always tried to schedule her appointment near my lunch so we could hang out some. WE have been to the movies.family outings and much more.What a fabulous lady.I will miss her dearly.
