Marvin Eugene Martin, 58, of Hendersonville and formerly of Princeton, WV passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at his residence.
Born on May 3, 1951 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Archie Granville Martin and Isabelle Maloyed Martin.
He was employed by Pardee Memorial Hospital as the Director of Engineering and was also a member of the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served during the Vietnam era from 1971-1977. He was a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge #85.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd E. Martin and Dennis H. Martin; and a sister, Shirley M. Tanner.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Meadows Martin of Hendersonville; his son, Curtis Lambert of Princeton; two grandsons, Draylon Lambert of Ft. Chiswell, VA, and Jacob Lambert of Rocky Gap, VA; a granddaughter, Jordan Lambert of Rocky Gap, VA; one brother, Jackson R. Martin of Church Hill, TN; and two sisters, Mary Kay Compton of Scott Depot, WV, and Linda Sue Stafford of Bluefield, WV.
Funeral services were held at 11 AM Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Danny Scott officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where graveside services were conducted by the Mercer Masonic Lodge #85. The Lodge members also served as pallbearers.
