Marvin “Mac” McGuinn, 86, of Hendersonville passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Polk County, he was a son of the late Willie B. and Gartha Bradley McGuinn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Earwood and Betty Coston, and brother, Clarence McGuinn.
Marvin retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of serving his country. He traveled extensively during his Air Force career. Following his retirement, he opened and managed the first Radio Shack in Henderson County. He was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy “Jane” McGuinn; daughters, Sandra and Ron Cornelius of Oneida, TN, and Barbara Gregory of Matthews, NC; son, Marvin Douglas McGuinn of Hendersonville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; sisters, Margie Bayley of Rutherfordton, Naomi and Robert Pressley of Asheville, Ruby and Bob Seay of Fairview, and Ramona Turner of Hendersonville; brother, Marion and Debra McGuinn of St. Louis, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
