Michael Anthony Boyd Sr., 46, of Mills River passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of Bill Boyd and Helen Meece Boyd, and stepson of Ola Boyd.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Amber Nicole Boyd, Stephen Michael Boyd and Michael Anthony Boyd Jr.; three grandchildren, Hailey and Kyleigh Boyd and Grayson Fallas Boyd; his five sisters, Michelle Walsh, Myra Stepp, Becky Smith, Karen Waldron and Sharon Stefanski; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.

    Tony at Rugby Jr.High School we were the best of friends and we used to raised more hell than you could shack a stick at. I know it has been 20 yrs. since we have seen each other but I still recall our childhood together. You were a good man and I still tell others about our times.
