Michael Grant Gordon, 66, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness. A native of Henderson county, he was a son of the late U.G. and Peggy Freeman Gordon. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Wayne Gordon as well as a daughter, Misty Lee Gordon Andrews.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Wilma Middleton Gordon; son, Michael Paul Gordon and his wife Janice of Hendersonville; daughter, Angela Gordon of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Grant and Chelsey Gordon, Jamie Hensley, Jessica Hensley, Dakota Lee Andrews, Ashley Gordon, Paul Gordon and Kala Gordon; great-grandchildren, Grant and Bryson Gordon, Elijah, Bella and Madison Hensley; sisters, Jenny Ruff and her husband Lee, Delores Turpin and her husband Vincent, Inez and her friend Miles, Crystal and Rene Couture, and Joan Middleton Trantham; brothers, Clinton Gordon of Etowah, Benjamin Gordon of Hendersonville, and Larry Middleton of Mountain Home; uncle, Leonard Gordon and his wife Rena; many nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends.

A visitation will be held in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the family to help with their expenses. 612 Old Sunset Hill Rd. Hendersonville, NC 28792.

    Wilma and family, Michael was always there when we were going through our hard times always with a smile and letting us know he cared about everyone, now he has seen Misty again and walking with everyone who has gone before, I know God will comfort all of you and one day we will meet again.

    Michael will be missed by all that knew him. He would stop and visit me and my wife at our home, on his way home from church. My wife, Emma is also a cancer patient and she and Michael would visit at the doctors office.
