Michael Rudisill

Michael Erastus Rudisill, 84 of Hendersonville, died Sunday, June 1, 2008. A native of Kingsville, Texas, he was a son of the late John and Virgie Rudisill. He had been a resident of Hendersonville for over 25 years. He was a Torpedo Bomber with US Navy Air Corps. A 1949 honors graduate of Duke University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he retired from Western Electric and Tandy Corp. He helped found Alamance Community College and was also an instructor at A-B Technical College.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter Frazier Saylor; and a sister Katherine Evans.

Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Mary Katherine Rudisill; daughters Bobbie Nance and husband Jim, Yvonne R. White and husband Dennis, Jane R. Bowman, and Tanya R. McManus and husband Ron; sons Martin H. Rudisill and wife Jan, John R. Rudisill and wife Canary, Michael E. Rudisill and wife Marty; stepchildren Katherine Fowler and husband Josef Osterneck and Jim Fowler and wife Kris; eleven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jake, Bill and John Rudisill.

A memorial service with Masonic and Military rites will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
