Gifts & Memorial Donations

Mildred Lindsey Nix, 80, of Flat Rock passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a daughter of the late Harvey and Levada Mullinax Lindsey and the loving wife of the late Frank Nix.

Mildred was a lifelong member of Tuxedo First Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family and the Lord. She worked for First Union National Bank most of her working career and retired in 1998. She loved to travel and saw most of the US with her family, friends, and church family. Even so, her favorite place was always home.

Survivors include daughter, Lynn Frisbee and husband Mike of Flat Rock and their son Shaun, daughter, Lori Garren and husband Tim of Hendersonville and their sons, Brandon and Trace; sister, Virginia Morgan of Greer, SC; brothers, Glen Lindsey and wife Jeannie of Zirconia and Harvey “HJ” Lindsey, Jr. and wife Pat of Campobello, SC; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Myrtis Capps; and special friends, Mary Joyce Corn, Wilma Moore, and Louise Bishop.

Mildred felt her greatest accomplishments were her daughters, sons-in-law, and her grandsons who knew her as Nana. Her children were her heart. She wished everyone she knew would love, be happy, and know the Lord as their Savior.

The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Dr. Lateef Abumoussa and to each and every one of the Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation’s staff who so lovingly cared for our precious Mama. Their love and kindness will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday at Tuxedo First Baptist Church with her Pastor and friend, Reverend Mike Bennett, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at Shuler Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
