Nancy Mueller Talenski, 79, devoted wife and mother, who grew up in Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, in Apex, NC (near Raleigh, NC) at home. For 59 years, she was the wife of Melvin H. Talenski, also of Collinsville, IL. Nancy was born July 29, 1936 in Collinsville, IL, the daughter of the late Francis J. “Zeke” Mueller and Marion J. (Euno) Mueller.

Nancy graduated from Collinsville Township High School in 1954 with honors. After graduation, she worked for Dow Chemical as a secretary for top level management. Nancy then married Mel (USAF) and moved to Salina, KS to work as secretary for one of the largest Law Firms in KS. After discharge from the USAF, Nancy and Mel moved back to Collinsville, IL to start their family. Because of Mel’s work, they moved to Raleigh, NC, New Orleans, LA, Raleigh, NC, Tulsa, OK, and Atlanta, GA. Nancy was very active in Church work, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, organizing the Library system in Lawrenceville, GA, and many more civic projects. Upon retiring, Nancy and Mel moved to Hendersonville, NC and traveled to Japan, Great Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Hawaii, the Pacific NW, Alaska, Canada and Nova Scotia.

Nancy is survived by her husband: Mel, brother: Jack (Jeanne) Mueller, of Caseyville, IL., daughters: Katherine T. Wood of Winder, GA , Peggy T. (William) Skirball of Holly Springs, NC, and son: Matthew S. Talenski of Winder, GA and three grandchildren: Michael J. (Sandra) Wood, Timothy J. (Casey) Wood, and Zachary A. Wood, along with two great-grandchildren: Malachi and Micah Wood.

Memorial Services will be held at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, NC at 11am on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Rev. Larry Rabon will officiate.
