Nancy Sue Miller, 76, of Hendersonville passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Elizabeth House following a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, she had resided in Hendersonville for the past 20 years. Nancy was a daughter of the late Herbert and Sally Calhoun. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis Ray Calhoun, Bobbie Glen Calhoun and Herbert Niles Calhoun, Jr. as well as her granddaughter, Shannon Sue Sexton.
Nancy was a school bus driver for many years for the school district in Taylor, Michigan before moving to Hendersonville and becoming a caretaker. She was a very active member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and thoroughly enjoyed children. Nancy was part of a doll club for many years and had a 25×25 room dedicated to her dolls. She enjoyed gardening as well as spending time with her family, as she cherished every moment with them. Nancy had a great ability to make greeting cards and would send them to everyone she knew on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Robert Charles Miller; sister, Brenda Brooks and her husband Jimmy of Florida; daughters, Debora Wagner and her husband Nick of Taylor, Michigan and Melva Ann Sexton of Hendersonville; Step-daughters, April Miller and Tammy Anderson and her husband Kevin; brother-in-law, Terry Miller of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Steven and Beth Sexton, Keith Robert Loren, Jim and Sierra Loren, Jesse Loren, Baily, Cassy and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Hailey, Logan, Carter Bryson; special niece, Angel Maxwell and her children Decota Fowler and CJ Maxwell.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Cody Sturgill officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm in the church prior to the service.
