Norman Stepp, 79, of Flat Rock, passed away Friday, October 19, at the Elizabeth House. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Albert U. and Nellie Hyder Stepp and husband of the late Velma Faye Souther Stepp who died in 2001. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Charlie Stepp and a sister, Louise Morrison. He owned and operated Stepp’s Tree Service for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Stepp is survived by four sons, Jeff Stepp and his wife Shawnee, Randy Stepp and his wife Patsy, Travis Stepp and Cale Stepp, all of Flat Rock; four brothers, Al, Donald, Cecil and Billy Stepp; two sisters, Vickie Suttles and Vivian Allen and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held 1:00 pm Monday, October 22, at the Shuler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Oliver will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of Jeff Stepp.
