Pamela Hope Williams, 60, of Gerton died Saturday, November 21, 2009 from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation.

Originally from Elburn, IL, she was the daughter of the late June and Benjamin Waskow.

She was a vibrant person and a wonderful mother of two before PSP took her.

Surviving are a daughter, Kelley J. Stefka, of Greenville, SC and a son, Kent D. Williams and wife, Lacey, of Charleston, SC; her best friend of 25 years, Linda Straughan; a sister, Penny Meyer of Big Rock, IL; and a brother, Craig Waskow and his wife, Patty. She had the chance to be a part of her only granddaughterís new life, Callie Hope Williams, of Charleston.

    To the family of Pamela Williams, I would like to express my deepest sympathy for you loss. I know that your hearts must be heavy with grief right now and it is times like these were we can gain much comfort from the scriptures. At John 5:28, the Bible assures us of a wonderful hope: "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth". Here Jesus promises us that by means of the resurrection we will be reunited with our beloved family members who have fallen asleep in death. In fact, Christ says of himself at John 11:25, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live". When Jesus spoke these words, it was just before he demonstrated his power to raise the dead by bringing his friend Lazarus back to life. What love he showed in behalf of his friend and ultimately mankind. The Bible even speaks of the time when God will do away with man's "enemy" death forever. Isaiah 25:8 says: "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces". How encouraging! Just think, the time will come when no one will feel the sting of death. Please reflect on these verses, think about them. It is my sincere hope that by doing so, you will find the peace of mind you need to cope during this difficult time.
