I first met Peter Wizes on New Years eve 1981, I know this as it was also the nite that I met my late wife. I had seen him at different events socially, but we never had a chance to really talk. I could clearly see that he was smitten by Annette. Anita and I were at their wedding. He as a solid guy, she needed that. She brought energy, fun and a sense of excitement he needed that. They were soulmates. Soldier, student, teacher, cook, business man, Garage sale affectionato, brother, husband and dad. Family man. Family was I think was the most important to him.We were at their house for dinner, I was sitting near the kitchen door when the youngest daughter was asking her mom for something, Mom said "No" not till after dinner. She then came into the living room, slipped into Pete's lap and with the cutest smile said Dad...Pete was trying to keep a from smiling..but she got what she wanted. Family man was what he most valued. There is one other thing he was. Friend. He was a friend to me all these years. He helped me, taught me a lot, we got into trouble with our wives together. Good times! Thank you, sleep well my friend, and when you see someone we know, tell her I will be along in a bit.
