Phillip L. Chastain, 57, of Hendersonville, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Pardee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Henderson County, he was the son of James and Kathleen Lancaster of Hendersonville and the late Charles R. Chastain, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Ruth Justice and Charles and Lona Chastain.

He attended Fellowship Baptist Church. Phillip enjoyed hunting and was an avid Harley rider.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Kathleen and James Lancaster of Hendersonville, he is survived by his two children, Brandon Chastain and Teresa ìTJî Chastain, both of California; two sisters, Janice C. Boyd and husband, Jackie, and Lisa C. Osteen and husband, Norman, all of Hendersonville; four nieces and nephews, Amanda and Josh Revels and Zack and Alexis Boyd; and several aunts, uncles and loving friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Mountain Home Baptist Church with the Reverends Jimmy Justice and Craig Garren officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 181 Trio Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
