Rhonda Stepp Jones, 57, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 22, 2012 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill after a lengthy illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of Bertha Hoots Stepp of Hendersonville and the late Elton Stepp.

Mrs. Jones was a 1972 graduate of Edneyville High School and a member of Fruitland Baptist Church, where she served as music director and organist for over twenty years. She worked for many area banks during her career as a customer service representative, with Mountain First being her last employer.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Timothy Jones; her son, Isaac Jones; and her sister, Kay Stepp Smith, all of Hendersonville; and by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 PM Monday, July 30, 2012 at Fruitland Baptist Church. The Reverends Michael Smith, Steve Jones, and Craig Stepp will officiate. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow the service. A private graveside service will be held.
