Richard Hunter, 92, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cardinal Care with his wife Florence by his side. Richard proudly served his country and his community as a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and as a 5th grade teacher on McGuire Air Force Base for 26 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Florence M. Hunter; a daughter, Kirsten D’Angelo and her husband Robert; and one grandson, Dylan Wolff; along with many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hunter would like to thank the staff, employees and patients of Cardinal Care for all of their care, love and support over the past 4 years. She would also like to thank the All Saints Anglican Church in Mills River for their support and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to All Saints Anglican Church or Mills River.
Shuler Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements and services will be planned at a later date.
