Richard “Dickie” Howard Bolt, 81, of Hendersonville passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Francis and Grace Howard Bolt. He had resided in Henderson County since 1987.
Dickie was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and went on to have a 30 year career as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Following his retirement from the Post Office, he worked as a security officer with Pardee Hospital for 10 years. He was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church and loved to spend his time fishing or working in the yard. Dickie enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Canasta or shooting pool.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet McMurray Bolt; step-son, Ricky Lee Stephenson; sisters-in-law, Juanita McMurray, Pam McMurray and her husband Bill and Elaine Merrell and her husband Bill; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Shepherd Memorial Park with Reverend Dr. Greg Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends at the home.
