Robert Benjamin ìRBî Jones, 83, of Hendersonville joined the love of his life, JoElla, January 2, 2013, on the week of their 59th wedding anniversary.

Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late Loice Alonzo and Josephine Hill Jones and husband of the late JoElla Garren Jones, who died in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Walter Jones and sister, Joycelyn Ward.

He was a US Army veteran and worked for over 50 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Denice Jones Berry and husband, John; Carmelita Jones Alverson and husband, Troy; and Alan Dean Jones, all of Hendersonville; seven grandchildren, John and Brandon Berry, Tiffany Nicholson, Andrew and Jordan Alverson, and Carrie and Amy Simotics; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Dean Jones and wife, Camille, of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Reverend Tony Hall officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 ñ 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
