Robert D. Lance, 71, of Hendersonville passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Elizabeth House following a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Lola Garren Lance.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. He retired from G.E. in Flat Rock as a fork lift operator.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Gail Lance; daughter, Holly Lance of Raleigh; sister, Lana Lance Gilbert and husband Dale of Hendersonville; niece, Shannon Gilbert Drane and husband Mark of Hendersonville; nephew, Bryan Gilbert and wife Denise of Fletcher and great-nieces and nephews, Mady, Brynna, and Sarah.

A graveside service will be held 2pm Friday, September 8, 2017 at Mountain Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Elizabeth House for their wonderful care.
