Robert L. Jackman, 91, of Carolina Village in Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

A native of Michigan, he was a graduate of Lapeer High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College.

A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Jackman served as a sergeant in the Korean Conflict.  For 24 years, he was a mental Health Therapist and County Juvenile Officer in Michigan.  In 1985, he moved to Hendersonville where he worked for the Henderson County Dispute Settlement Center until 1993.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Jackman is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara H. Jackman; daughters, Margaret Bouchard and Teresa Logerquist, both of Ypsilanti, MI; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Friday, September 8, 2017 in the Memorial Garden of First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bullington Gardens, 95 Upper Red Oak Trail, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
