Robert Franklin “Bob” Reid, 75, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 31, 2008 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Robert Frazier Reid, Jr. and Mildred Loree Kilpatrick.
Bob retired from the US Army after almost 21 years of service as a Military Police Officer that included one tour of Korea and two tours of Vietnam. He also retired from the City of Hendersonville Public Works Department.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Past Commander of the VFW.
He is survived by one sister, Betty Rogers of Tennessee and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service for friends and family will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 4:30pm at Oakdale Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731
