Gifts & Memorial Donations

Roger Keith Brackett, 69, of Hendersonville, died Monday, June 27, 2022, following a brief illness.

A Henderson County native, Roger was born September 20, 1952, to James W. and Doris Mathis Brackett. He was preceded in death by his father.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years Rendell Beddingfield Brackett; son Sandon Brackett and grandchildren Cayden and Kyler of Hendersonville; and son Stacey Brackett of Hickory. Roger is also survived by his brother Ted (Cory) Brackett of Swannanoa; brother Jerry (Nannette) Brackett of Murphy; sister Kay (Bob) Arnold of Canton; brother Scott (Sarah) Brackett of Hendersonville; sister Kathy Brackett of Hendersonville; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Roger was a kind, funny, happy, loving, and well-respected family and businessman in the Henderson/Buncombe County community – some endearingly referring to him as the “Carpet Man!”. A constant prankster and practical joker, Roger spent a number of years coordinating the youth football league, umpiring for youth and Babe Ruth baseball, and loving his family – especially his grandsons. Most of all though, his contagious laughter will be missed the most.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm, June 30th, 2022, in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Jones officiating; a visitation will be available from 4pm to 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donation may be made Mr. Brackett’s: In Loving Memory of Roger K. Brackett

Renda and family, We are so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. He was a good friend in school and it was always good to run into him through the years. You could always tell he had a joke to tell by the twinkle in his eye. He was a cheerleader to all the youth in sports. We are praying for you and family.
