Ruby Rebecca Praytor Stewart, 91, Mills River, joined her heavenly father at 05:31 am., Nov.8, 2017 in the tranquility of her home.
Ruby was born August 20, 1926, in Hendersonville, NC and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at Enka briefly, was an accomplished homemaker and caregiver for her family, and was a member of Mt Gilead Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Robert “Jud” Stewart, and wife Amy, of Mills River, NC; two daughters, Barbara McCrary, and husband Jim, of Oliver Springs, TN, and Shirley Shipman, and husband John, of Hephzibah, GA.; 3 sisters, Jean Sellers (Mitchell), Patricia Mintz (Jerry), Linda Franklin (Randall Lanning); 14 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, and 1 loving cat, Whiskers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Liston and Daisy W.Holcombe Praytor, husband, Robert Richard “Cotton” Stewart, sons, George Edward “Skinny” Stewart Sr and Larry Richard Stewart.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Four Seasons Hospice for their care and support of our family!
Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November.11, at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Mills River, Pastor Robert Ponder will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be John Shipman, Jason Gasperson, James A. McCrary, George Stewart, II, Will Stewart, Daniel Stewart.
Family will receive friends immediately following the burial.
Contributions in memory of Ruby may be made to the Four Season’s Hospice or Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery Fund.
