James Russell ìRussî Nix, 74, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, December 2, 2010 at the Elizabeth House following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Elbert and Bertha McClure Nix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Ward.

A native of Commerce, GA, he was a resident of Henderson County for 56 years. He was a member of Mountain Home Baptist Church. He always wanted to visit and help people in need. He enjoyed playing and watching basketball above all other sports. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Nix; children, Tim Nix and Renae Nix; grandson, Cody Nix; sister, Ann Jones and husband, Otis of GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. His family loved him very much and will truly miss him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Mountain Home Baptist Church. The Reverend Craig Garren will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
