Samuel R. Sosebee, 85, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
A native of White County, GA, he was the son of the late Ross and Fannie Mae Freeman Sosebee.
Samuel moved to Hendersonville with his family at the age of 11 and graduated from the Flat Rock High School in 1951. He was a dairy farmer for 31 years then later worked at Francis and Wright, Inc., Rose’s Dept. Store, and Piggy’s.
He was a member and Deacon at Main Street Baptist Church and a choir director at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years. He and his wife, Helen, were 4-H Club Leaders for the Crab Creek Community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Moore Sosebee; daughters, Sandy Stepp (Terry), Debbie Bennett (Glenn) and Annette Ward; grandchildren, Kye Stepp (Kelli), Tara Bolman (Trey), Jennifer Picher (Jon), Stefanie Sigmon (Stephen), and Heath Ward (Andrea); 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Sosebee Gasperson (Henry); and many other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 9 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
