Sherman Dennis Levi, 82, of Zirconia died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Laurels of Hendersonville.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Dennis Calvin and Lola Ward Levi.

Before retiring in 1990, he was employed by Cranston Print Works for 42 years. He was a member of Bobís Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Melzinnia McCarson Levi of Zirconia; three children, Delwin Hyder and husband, Edward; Calvin Levi and wife, Melody; and Jerry Levi, all of Zirconia; Granddaughter, Terri Stepp and husband, Joe; grandson, Cody Levi; one great-grandchild, Weston Stepp; sisters, Betty McCall and Auberine Goins; brothers, Leland Levi and Ben Levi; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the loving staff of the Laurels for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Double Springs Baptist Church with the Reverends Larry Oliver and Carl ìPeteî McCarson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 12 noon Thursday at Shuler Funeral Home.

He was a good man and has left a lasting legacy in the fact that he raised three hard-working, children with integrity and high character.
