Sherry McConnell, 68, of Mills River went to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, January 20, 2010 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Brown and Vera Tate Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Dennis McConnell, who passed away in 2009.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Maxwell Caldwell and husband, Michael, and Debbie Cantrell; son, Greg Maxwell and wife, Kim; granddaughter, Kesha Hudson; and sisters, Jo Darlington and husband, John, Barbara Bodnar, Lillie Cordell and Ruth Nelon and husband, Carl.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Justice officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life-Elizabeth House, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
