Stanley “Reed” Pittillo

Stanley ìReedî Pittillo, 59, of Hendersonville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2014 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. A native and lifelong resident of Hendersonville, he was a son of the late James and Annie Pittillo and husband of the late Wilma Prince Pittillo who died in 2008. He was also preceded in death by his brother Sonny Pittillo and a sister Linda Gillenwater.

He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and a beautiful friend. He enjoyed music and the outdoors, but most of all time spent with family and friends. He was an inspiration of strength and hope for all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his only daughter, Patricia Pittillo; brother and best friend, Johnny Pittillo and his wife Carol; sister, Barbara Ann McGraw of all of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Kyle, Jenny, Josh and Luke Snyder and Brooke Bracken; and his future great-grandchild, Jaelynn Pittillo. He is also survived by Glenn Lovelace, whom he considered to be a son.

A special thanks to Rick Wise, Scott Robinson and all of the rest of his beloved friends who have stood beside him. He will be forever missed and live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Justice officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
