Terry Paul Hensley

Gifts & Memorial Donations

Terry Paul Hensley, 62, of Hendersonville, NC, where he was born and raised, went to his eternal home in Beulah Land on November 25, 2022. He was surrounded by family, and Dr. Caserio, his faithful physician, who remained by his side until his last breath. Terry was raised in the Valley Hill community, often found while he was growing up playing outside with close neighbors nearby Stanwood Lane. He was a graduate from East Henderson High School in 1979. He was a faithful member of Hendersonville First Church of the Nazarene, along with more recently Upward Christian Fellowship. He loved to frequent The Loft and South Rock Sports Grill both in Hendersonville, NC, where he enjoyed playing pool. He also loved the outdoors and was particularly fond of feeding peanuts to his squirrels at home daily, watching eagles, and looking for deer. He was known to help many in times of need, even though he did not have much to give, and was very traditional, always putting God and family before anything else in life.

Terry was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Paul Luther Hensley, and mother, Pauline Bowen Hensley. He is survived by his sisters Tammy Stepp, and late husband Glenn; Cindy Galloway, and husband Robert; Kim Lanning, and husband Clyde. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Tabitha Tate, husband Brian; Whitney Hakala, husband Mark, Riley and Kolby; Jordan Henderson, and wife Julianna, Taylor and Cole; Justin Lanning; Lauren Davidson, husband Jordan, Emersyn and great nephew to come Baylis. He is survived by special aunts he enjoyed spending time with Selma Dobbins of Blountville, TN; Joe Elliot of Asheville, NC; and Castellow Hill of Dana, NC.

Words cannot express the gratitude our family extends to Dr. Caserio for the care he showed Terry over the past forty years, due to his significant history of epilepsy. It is difficult to find a physician who shows as much compassion, along with a commitment to excellent care, as he did in treating Terry, especially when our family and anyone that knew him was aware he was known to be stubborn. Your love for what you do was evidenced numerous times, but especially during this time to us as a family, as you embodied being the living expression of God’s kindness.

Terry will be missed greatly by his family and numerous friends he has had along his journey. A drop in visitation will be held at Hendersonville First Church of the Nazarene located a 111 N. Washington Street, on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock pm. A funeral will be held at Hendersonville First Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2’clock in the afternoon, where a graveside ceremony will follow at Shaw’s Creek Methodist Campground Cemetery at 20 Broyles Road, Hendersonville, NC.

Terry was my cousin and always proud to tell people he knew.He would always call me from different places and asked did I know someone he ran into. He was always about family. If anything was going on with sickness or family function was first to call. We would talk about shooting pool and who needs to bring their billfold. Going to miss him! Many a times me and Terry, discussed who was best at playing pool. Many a time, Terry and I shared a cup of soda(ne) a cup of coffee (Terry), while reliving camping trips at hidden valley, fishing trips with James Thompson, Osceola lake. Playing ball I. The pasture behind their house. And Garren's skating ring. The list goes on. Often remembering those who passed. Always a loving heart, and a smart wit. Miss ya Bro.
