Wade Shook, Jr., 87, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, November 05, 2011.

A long-time resident of the Swannanoa Valley and a Black Mountain business man, he was the son of the late Wade and Minnie Chastain Shook.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn Jones Shook; daughter, Linda Shook of Candler; sons, Charles Shook and wife, Tammy of Hendersonville and Robert Shook of Asheville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 7, 2011 at Mountain View Church in Black Mountain. The Reverend Daniel Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

    Melinda and I are so sorry to hear about Wade's passing. I really respected that man and we had some good times over the years. He will be missed. I wish I could have made the trip for the funeral but I am living in Tennessee just recently had surgery and I just couldn't make the trip. We both will be thinking of you.
