Robert Freeman, 73, of Edneyville, NC passed away on one of his days, Veterans’ Day, Friday, November 11th, 2022, after his fight with cancer; unfortunately, cancer won. He will still live on forever in our hearts.
Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jo; a son, Ryan, and his fiancé, Marsha Bell; a sister, Jean Blackwell, of Hendersonville, NC; nieces, Tracey Hill, Del Burgess, Tina Matthews, Josh Blackwell, Dean Blackwell, Whitney Turner, and Samantha Riddle. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Deirdre Swearngen and Peggy Gilbert, as well as his mother and father, TB and Vennie Freeman.
Robert was a kind and gentle soul with a wicked wit and sense of fun. He loved his dogs and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Once you were his friend, you were his friend for life. He loved riding around in the woods and seeing new scenery and nature. He was old fashioned with old fashioned values. He liked his westerns and country music. Although basically a shy man (unless he knew you), he always spoke his mind. He will be missed by his family and his many friends who truly loved him.
Please join his family and close friends to tell him “goodbye for now” this Saturday, November 19th at 2:00pm, St. Paul’s Cemetery on St. Paul’s Road.
