William B. Allison passed away at home Thursday, May 24, 2012, surrounded by his family and loved ones. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Richard and Vina Maybin Allison. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Whaley Allison on June 16, 2000, and sister Leona Jones.

He was blessed with six children Patricia, Nancy, Jean, Jane, Anthony and Pam; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a brother James Allison and a sister Dorothy Connor and a dear friend of ten years Lillie Hyder.

William had a real love for life, a wonderful sense of humor, loved his family, many friends and his church family at Mountain View Baptist Church. He had a natural talent for creating beautiful landscaping and rock work. In earlier years he enjoyed working with his horses and attending many horse shows.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Sunday afternoon, May 27 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hendersonville. The Rev. Tommy Martin and Rev. Mike McMillian will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 until 4:00pm prior to the service.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Four Seasons Compassion for Life Hospice of Hendersonville for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our father.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28732; or to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
