William ìBillî Ray McCall Sr., 64, of Hendersonville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House.

He was born in Gaston County, a son of the late Bessie Teague and Joe Butler McCall. He grew up and lived much of his life in Henderson County with his wife, the late Eloise Kuykendall McCall of Zirconia. He was also preceded in death by his older brother Y.J. McCall.

He was a member of Derita Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, where he was the sexton for the last seven years. He worked many years as a brick mason, a card hand at J.P. Stevens, and as an auto mechanic.

He is survived by the family that he dearly loved: two sons, Robert Joe McCall of Six Mile, SC and William ìBillyî Ray McCall, Jr. of Zirconia; two daughters Sandra Beeker of Charlotte and Debbie Harper of Stanley, NC; three sisters, Louella Watts of Six Mile, SC, Martha Faye Rogers of Hendersonville, and Melinda Ferguson of Piedmont, SC; two brothers, Richard McCall of Pickens, SC and Leroy McCall of Six Mile, SC; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm Monday, March 16, at Derita Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Mr. Dick Tubbs will officiate.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, March 17, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Zirconia with Rev. Eddie Conard officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm, prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
