We are in the process of taking care of my father's arrangements and have been working with Tom - he has been very caring and responsive and has gone out of his way to be helpful. Our family appreciates all of the support that we have received.
I will also say, we had previously used the facility on Church Street for my mom's arrangements about six years ago and I could not believe how different the place looks now - so much brighter with lots of thoughtful touches, and they even have a room now for receptions that is very nice and fully equipped with ovens, a fridge and freezer, coffee makers, etc. Highly recommend checking them out!

My mom died unexpectedly a little over a week ago so we called on Shuler Funeral home to take care of arrangements and services. My parents had a pre-paid plan in place that they had purchased back on 2009. There were a few challenges with how that plan was documented back then (non fault of any current staff), but Tom Klopfenstein handled the challenge with professionalism and compassion to our complete satisfaction.
Tom was a great comfort to our father throughout the process and made sure our whole family was taken care of and not burdened with a lot of details.
Mom’s services were beautiful and we were able to focus on remembering her and caring for my dad.
Thank you Tom for how you took care of us when we needed it.

Of course, no one ever wants to require the services of a funeral home, but when sadness strikes, it can be a great comfort to have sensitive people to care for the needs of the family.Amber, Kenneth, and all the folks at Shuler's handled my father's arrangements with kindness and a level of personal attention that meant a great deal. Amber had a special touch and made sure to check in, to handle details and to do it all very gracefully. I appreciated all she did for us during the time of our loss.

I am so glad we chose Shuler Funeral Home for our Dad. The folks at Shuler made our Dad's passing much easier to deal with. From the moment we called them, they were there for us. And it's worth mentioning that they maintain such a professional, and respectful courtesy for families, when families need it the most. They are the first funeral home I would recommend to anyone in the area, who have need for funeral services. My family are very grateful for Shuler Funeral Home.

Losing a loved one is almost always a terrible jolt. Even when you know it’s coming. For this reason you are often unprepared, unequipped, and deeply vulnerable. These things applied in the face of my family’s recent loss. We were fortunate to enlist the support of Shuler’s, esp. the assistance of Ms. Fawn Edvarsen, funeral director. She informed, listened, brainstormed, guided, directed behind the scenes, and problem-solved with attention to detail, compassion, and grace. We have nothing but good things to say about this organization.

On behalf of the entire family, I want to thank you Alan Parnell, Sarah Tessnair, Kenny McAbee and everyone at Shulers for the caring and professional services for my father. It is a very difficult situation for us but you and your staff did an exemplary job in working with us through this tough time. Job well done.Thank You.

I so much appreciated the sincere and genuine interactions and assistance from Landon during such a difficult time. He clearly cares about your clientele and understands how difficult a time it is on family. Also he was incredibly kind and helpful with assisting me in making arrangements despite difficulties introduced by my living out-of-state and being in the middle of a pandemic. I will always be grateful for his assistance and support during an otherwise difficult time.

Matt and Fawn helped our family during one of the hardest times with the loss of our precious Granny. Matt and Fawn both helped make the entire funeral and burial process during this time easy for the entire family. Matt and Fawn made sure our Granny had the funeral that she wanted down to the smallest details.
Would recommend Shuler Funeral Home to anyone that is looking for a funeral home that listens to what the family wants for their loved one and treats your loved one like their own family.
Thank you both!

If you are deciding between funeral homes right now, I recommend choosing Shuler. You'll be in caring, capable hands right when you need it most. Our family was extremely sad and shocked when my Mom died suddenly--and we had so much to arrange. Shuler helped us every step of the way, even with things that were not really their responsibility (like recommending caterers and places for the funeral lunch--and coordinating with a different, hard-to-reach vendor). I spotted an error in my Mom's funeral program at midnight before her funeral and emailed Shuler. The following morning they arrived at the church with the program correction in place. I felt like the Shuler team was completely on our side as my family tried to navigate our way through such a sad and difficult time--and that I could call them with any question or concern and they'd be able to help. Thank you very much to the whole team at Shuler Funeral Home.

This is a great place. The funeral home in Jacksonville NC is the epitomy of all funeral places. We have referred friends and we have had family there. They treat you the way you want, kind, considerate, caring, supportive and more. They make this process so much easier. That is why I have chosen to go there and make pre - arrangements . I know they will treat me and my family with the utmost professionalism.

Thank you so much to Rachel Green and the other staff members at Shuler Funeral Home. My family and I were treated with respect and compassion at every step in the process, even with the added difficulties due to COVID. I appreciate Rachel's attentiveness and attention to detail, and am so grateful for all her help. I recommend her highly, as well as Shuler as a whole. Thank you, again, for all you did to help us honor my father and his legacy.

This year we tragically lost both of my grandparents. Our first experience with another funeral home in Hendersonville was horrific. Billing issues, loss of cemetary plot, unorganized, chaotic just begin the define that experience. When my grandfather passed away and we decided upon Shuler's, I was obviously anxious for a duplicate experience. However, that did not happen. Fawn Edvardsen was our Funeral Home Director and she honestly blew our family away with her kindness, attention to detail, caring nature, and overall professionalism. The loss of two grandparents within a few weeks of one another is more painful than I can describe, but Fawn made us all feel like we could mourn safely and at our own pace. I know it is odd to review a funeral home with such intimate details, but I cannot say enough about the experience with Fawn. While I hope that no one endures the pain that our family has this year, I do hope that if you have to choose a funeral home, you consider Shuler's and Fawn.

We were extremely pleased with our experience with Shuler Funeral Home when my 96 year old father passed away. Pete Juergens was our funeral director, and he did an outstanding job. He was kind, efficient and very pleasant to work with. He gave great attention to all details of Daddy's funeral, including military honors for our precious WWII veteran. The funeral service was handled in a reverent and professional manner, the programs were lovely, and Pete's planning, instruction and direction made everything go smoothly.
I wish to add more to my review. We were quite appreciative of the service that Shuler provides of donating clothes from both of our loved ones who have recently passed away, whose funeral services were provided by Shulers. After bagging up Daddy's clothes and his wife Betty's clothes, a very kind and hardworking young man named Bryan came to pick them up to take them to a non-profit ministry to give back to the community. This was such a blessing to our family and just another example of the amazing service of Shulers Funeral Home. Thank you Bryan for your diligence and patience in collecting all the clothes from two deceased people, which I am sure was much greater than a usual pickup. You went above and beyond in kindness and helpfulness and we are very appreciative!

The thought of having to deal with the Funeral arrangements for my Mother , was overwhelming to say the least . However I was most comfortable with the way Shuler Funeral home "Esscorted " Me through it . Pete and Marideth were very compassionate with my Mother's affairs . My entire family had only Kindest of words to say about My Mother's service . God bless and thank you Both from the bottom of my heart .

Shuler's staff were courteous and compassionate when collecting my mom's body, and Tom Klopfenstein was very helpful when we made arrangements for her cremation and for the necessary documentation. Shuler's professionalism and caring made the process of dealing with the death of a loved one a lot less stressful, and for that I thank them.

I can't say enough about the caring and compassion that the staff of Shuler Funeral Home provided during the passing of my Father. Kenneth Brain and Fawn Edvardsen were my main points of contact during this difficult time. Both Ken and Fawn, as well as their team, were so patient with me and my family as we made preparations and during the entire day of the funeral.
Mom and I were so pleased and I think my Dad was smiling from Heaven.
Thank you all for helping us through this very difficult time. I could not have done this without your caring guidance. R Schmalz, Jr.

Tom Klopfenstein and his staff did a fabulous job shepherding us through the difficult aftermath of our Father's passing. The cremation and memorial services we chose were handled smoothly and seamlessly. We were very happy with the outcome and believe that our father would have been pleased as well. Thanks Shuler.

I want to take a moment and speak about how Shuler Funeral Home treated my family during one of the toughest moments of our life. I have never met a group of people who have been so attentive, sensitive, and helpful in every way that can be thought of. My father passed away unexpectedly and that very afternoon all was taken care of. Tom Klopfenstein, our funeral director, told us to go and relax, everything was good to go. The services and little tweaks and suggestions were all perfect! My mother was overwhelmed by the attention and care. Please take the time to speak to Shuler Funeral Home when a need arises, you will not be disapointed.

This is long overdue but I wanted to express my great appreciation for the kind and compassionate service I received from Shuler Funeral Home after my father passed away last summer. Meredith went above and beyond in helping ensure my Dad's memorial service was truly special including arranging for military honors as my Dad was a World War II veteran. My family and I are so grateful that Meredith and the other staff at Shuler were there for us during that difficult time.

My father passed away recently and we engaged Shuler Funeral Home to arrange for his service. Tom Klopfenstein was the director and we were immediately at ease with his personal attention to all the details of the service, some that we had already had in mind but other details that Tom had suggested, which were very much appreciated. We never felt like we were being sold on anything we didn`t want or need. Our service was provided and it went exceptionally well. We are very pleased with all the services and personal touches provided. Although I am sure that Shuler had many other clients we felt like our loved ones` service was the only service being handled by Tom. We are 100% pleased with Tom and the Shuler staff and we would happily recommend their services to all in need in the Hendersonville, NC area. Job well done!

I want to say thank you to the Shuler Funeral home staff (family). I say family because you cared for my wife as you would care for your family member. I want to thank Tom for coming out to meet with us prior to the passing of my wife and for helping us to prepare a service that would honor her and glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

With the stress and loss of a very close loved one...it takes special businesses such as Shuler Funeral Home to really care for the family and immediate family in their time of loss. God Bless you and thank you Tom for all your help with my Mothers preparation during her loss and the loss of my Grand Mother.

Kenny McAbee and all of the representatives at Shuler Funeral Home made this process much easier than we were expecting. They treated our mother with the respect and dignity she deserved as she was being interred. They were all kind and considerate to each member of our family. Thank you for helping us honor our loved one.

It seems weird to give a five star rating for the death of a loved one, but our experience with Kenny McAbee at Shuler Funeral Home was positive. He was understanding, flexible, and met our needs the way we wanted. He was great at expressing the options so we could understand when we had no sleep and were in some of our deepest days of grief. He went above and beyond to make our lives easier.

The entire staff of the Shuler Funeral Home were professional, competent, and caring. All aspects of the process were explained in detail with all questions answered. Thomas D. klopfenstein, our Shuler representative was particularly accommodating to my elderly mother. We very much appreciate the total experience.
